The opportunity offered by the MIT Refugee Action program
We would like to relay through this posting the opportunity offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) Refugee Action (MIT’s ReACT) program for your further sharing to relevant interested refugees (refugee applicants/recognised refugees/humanitarian status holders) as you will deem appropriate.
From September 2020, MIT will provide, free of charge - aside from access to internet and computer costs -, an online course on computer and data science with relevant certification notably for displaced people. The deadline for applications is this Friday (August 7th, 2020).
We understand from MIT’s ReACT website (https://react.mit.edu/apply/) that duly registered refugees (refugee applicants/recognised refugees/humanitarian status holders) who meet the below conditions may apply: 1) are over 18 years old; 2) can access to computer and internet; 3) are proficient in English; 4) are interested in computer and data science; and 5) have advanced understanding of algebra, geometry, logarithms and exponentials, and probability and/or programming logic (a test will be administered).
Please note that MIT indicates on the above-mentioned page that learners from Iran and Sudan may not be able to participate in this program due to licenses’ limitations.
To get all relevant details on applications, please visit the URL website (https://react.mit.edu/apply/) where the call for application can be found. In case of any further inquiries, these are to be directed to the following email address: react@mit.edu
Thank you for your kind attention.
